Day 1
Sarapiqui
Upon arrival in San Jose, you will be met and transferred to the Caribbean
lowlands for a two-night stay at the Selva Verde Lodge
with all meals included. Selva Verde Lodge is
located near Puerto Viejo and only two-hours from San Jose.
Selva Verde is a rainforest lodge, which is dedicated to
educating its guests on the wonders and natural beauty of Costa Rica's
unique and fragile tropical rainforest.
The Rio Sarapiquí flows through the property and you
will find several small streams, which attract an array of birds and
wildlife. Conservation is a major reason for the establishment of Selva
Verde Lodge. Here you can learn fascinating principles for protecting the
intricate balance of nature in the world's rapidly diminishing rainforest.

Day 2
Sarapiqui
Selva Verde Lodge offers a guided birding tour each morning at 6am. Learn
more about the fascinating aviary found in the tropics, some of which are
migratory from the U.S. Following breakfast you will enjoy white water
rafting. A preliminary safety orientation will prepare you for the
challenges you’ll face on the water. Keep an eye out for the diversity of
the wildlife seen at the river’s edge in between the Class I-III rapids. A
professional river guide escorts all trips. This afternoon you will enjoy
another walk through the Selva Verde forest trails with an
English-speaking naturalist guide. (BLD) Day 3
Arenal
Early morning transfer
to the Arenal Volcano Park, where you will stay at the Arenal
Paraiso for the next two nights. From the hotel, you can enjoy
optional tours as time permits such as horseback riding to the Arenal
Volcano and the surrounding properties, Caño Negro wildlife refuge,
white water rafting, La Fortuna waterfall, boat rides through the Arenal
lagoon, fishing, Venado caves, hiking to Cerro Chato, Celeste river,
and much more. Several kilometers of private trails on their own 65
hectares Finca is also offered. Exuberant gardens, green areas,
different bird species and the best view of the majestic Arenal Volcano
surround the hotel. The hotel offers a large pool, a hot spring fed wet
bar, a kid’s pool, & changing rooms nearby. After getting settled the
adventure continues with a canopy experience at Arenal Paraiso. The
feeling of flying through the trees is unmatchable, 12 platforms and 350
meters of cables at about 85 meters in height. This evening dinner will
be at Tabacón Hot Springs where you may enjoy a relaxing soak in the
spring's restorative waters. These hot springs are encircled by
landscaped gardens and have beautiful pools of every shape, size, and
depth built around them so that you can enjoy these refreshing heated
waters in many different ways. The largest pool includes a swim up bar
and a water slide. There are countless smaller pools scattered about the
huge grounds as well as a heated stream rushing through the bridges,
paths and trails. Bathe amidst rocks and steam in the stream or sit
under the small waterfall and feel the powerfully moving heated water
massage your neck and shoulders. Changing rooms and storage containers
are available on the premises as well as towel rental. Also available
are massages and facials at very affordable prices. (BD)
Day 4
Arenal
This morning is a guided hike of Arenal Volcano. Enjoy the
most extraordinary view of Arenal Volcano on a gentle guided hike along
the base of this marvelous “Mountain of Fire”. The hike begins on the
active side of the volcano that takes you through the forest over recent
lava flows and to the destroyed areas that are now in the process of
regeneration. After lunch, you will enjoy a mountain bike tour. What
better way to explore the beautiful lush rainforest around Lake Arenal
then by mountain bike! Gear yourself up for a physical ride on a quiet
country road that begins at the Lake Arenal Dam, proceeds to the entrance
of the Arenal Volcano National Park and ends near the Observatory Lodge.
Enjoy magnificent views of the Arenal Lake and Volcano along the way.
Perhaps a monkey or two will come out to cheer you on! Your professional
bilingual guide will educate you on your surroundings and provide
assistance in whatever ways necessary (B)

Day 5
Manuel Antonio National
Park
Today you will be driven to the
Hotel and Beach Club El Parador, located three miles from the
entrance of Manuel Antonio National Park. The hotel is situated on the
400-acre, densely forested peninsula of Punta Quepos. Over the next three
days you will be at leisure. You may want to take part in the various
activities the hotel can arrange such as sport fishing, kayaking, and
snorkeling excursions. (B)

Day 6
Manuel
Antonio National Park
The day’s adventure is ATV expeditions with lunch. The ATV is an
adventurous tour where you were traveling through African palm plantations
and picturesque villages and farms in Quepos Area. Visit with your guide
the “Cerro Nara” hills, which offer a fantastic viewpoint with an altitude
of a 1000 ft. Enjoy during the drive several stops to observe some natural
pools and waterfalls. This tour is approximately five hours long, however,
the time will depend on the skills of the drivers of the four-wheelers.
Tour includes: Transportation, All Terrain Vehicle, lunch, snacks and a
trained bilingual guide (Children must be older then 10 years). (BL)

Day 7
Manuel Antonio National
Park
Today you will be sea
kayaking on Damas Island with lunch.
This
paddle through a protected inland waterway is an easier sea kayaking
adventure - it is the perfect place to learn the sport, while enjoying
magical ecosystem of the mangrove estuary and observing such interesting
wildlife as white-faced capuchin monkeys and an array of birds. A
special treat is the hot, Costa Rican lunch served of the edge of the
mangrove estuary. The pace of this trip will be according to your
abilities. Recommendations: Sunscreen, swimming suit, beach sandals,
insect repellent, camera & hat. Tour includes: transportation, lunch,
kayaking equipment & guide. (BL)

Day 8
Departure
This morning you will
be transferred to the Quepos Airstrip for your Nature Air flight back to
San Jose. Upon arrival you will be shuttled to the International
terminal for check in for your flight home. Please arrive at the
airport at least three hours prior to flight time. (B) Note:
For same day transfers, flights from San Jose must be in the afternoon
